After a few issues with a talon (but thats another story), I have put the standard align 70a esc back on the 550 as a temporary get me flying measure (not here to debate align esc issues either!)
If I had a life pack sitting around, then I would use it in conjunction with the align 70a esc as a bit of an added safety measure, plugged straight into the fbl unit, but I dont.
what I do have though is a couple of 2s lipos and an elyq regulator from the 600 nitro.....
the regulator has the big messy wiring issue, and I was wondering if there's any reason why I cannot simplify things a bit........
The reg has a dedicated 5v rx output port, and programable servo output ports (6v chosen currently). I am using an ar7200bx fbl unit which will take a power supply of between 3.5v to 8.5v in any open port.
Is there any reason why I cannot simply run one (or two) power supply wires from the 6v servo output ports on the reg straight into the spektrum beast x, and power all the electronics this way, as you do with a life pack, (with main pack power wire pulled from the esc servo plug) ?????
this might be one for the electronics geeks amongst us to tell me why not? I can of course wire it the way of the elyq manual as i have with the nitro, but I was just curious about the simple mothod above?
help if you can pease
