A bit of a crappy gusty day and I wasn't feeling on par..so while waiting for my 500 spares I dug out my two old 450's.
Neither has been flown in over 2 years and I can't recall whether the batts were left charged or not when chucked in the case last.
I put two onto charge and watched them closely. Both started out at 21% and 23% and both took near enough 1600ma and stayed balanced throughout.
I checked over the 450 pro FB HKclone with cheap towerpro servos and a 520 on the tail with quark..it looked ok so out I went. The wind was reported at 22mph gusting to 30 at that time but to be fair I was in a more sheltered area of garden with several clumps of 12yr old trees. It was blasted near solid as a rock.. did get a bit more lively above the trees but flew the 4.30min with simple tight circuits and flips ( I was in the garden rather then my field so not so much room to pratt)...flew almost as steady as my 500 fbl!!! its a bit tame perhaps but tha's probbaly down to a 430L motor and lower than ideal headspeed.
The 450 SEV2 came out just now when the wind had died completely. It's been v3'd which is a pain since the front tt gears on V3 are weak and overpriced. It was twitchier than the clone pro.. same cheap servos but a 401 on the tail with a 510 servo. It has a better motor but the vertical fin was vbraing lots and it felt a bit sloppy all round.
I've got a small suitcase of spares for these and another 6-8 lipos in the case.
I went to cheap towerpro mg60 and mg60s after killing a bunch of MG65's and getting pigged off at their replacement cost.
Now I don't know what to do with them.....
