Phill's correct - but so is Keith cos I can't remember how to rig a uniflow now I would have to check out Curtis's site maybe.

I am still not convinced about the bubble trap only comment but it certainly seems to improve the running. My old Nexus used to lean out towards the last 1/3 of a tank. Fitted the header tank and it runs fine till empty That cannot be just due to bubbles.

Keith you are a cheeky a**e. I know what a uniflow system is.

It's as simple as plumbing the muffler pressure line into the main tank as normal but having the line continuing into the tank with a clunk on the end. As fuel drains from the main tank the weight of the fuel lowers and permits a increase in tank pressure to counter the lean run.

I suppose I should also add that the increase in resistance when changing to this system would require you to richen the engine a little. This is because the previous system was just pushing exhaust gases into the open space above the fuel (allowing for not being inverted obviously). Whereas the new system now pushes exhaust gases into the tank at the bottom (upright and inverted).

Oops, sorry it wasn't. It was the "I know more the Keith" book. Sub heading "Can't fly as good as though".

                      POST HIJACKING

Thanks for all the advice, and the hijacking!. Auto's you say, can you do them before you can hover properly then or what? (only flown the shuttle twice!!!!!!!) and yes the second time I got carried away (as you do) and all of a sudden nearly (about a mil. left) could not throttle back properly to land as the mixture leaned out, head speed went up etc. Can you give me any more info on the fuel monitior? like a link or site or even a manufacturer
-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

                      And a DX8 too

Maybe an idea to learn stable hover before autoing

                          Hmm Thought so

OO and there was me with my throttle kill switch finger itching!!!

Thanks for the link they look the sort of thing I am after. Do you have to drill holes in the tank to get them to fit?
