Hey guys/girls I'm a newbie to this hobby had large scale 2 stroke off road buggys up until January and decided I fancy a challenge so brought myself my 1st helli a brand new trex 600 plus specktrum controller etc i also brought a Phoenix sim and must say this is ace for learning the controls etc I've joined a club over in Chelmsford Essex and got my insurance and will of course only be flying my new bird with a qualified pilot via buddy lead until I'm competent but I'm after a new starter align if anybody has 1 and what blades should I go for as spares any help would be very welcome :-) and what's a good training pod to go for or should I just borrow 1 cheers guys

That you very much my man :-) I have been with r/c models for 10+ years now always cars buggys etc but fancied something that takes a certain level of skill rather then just bashing over the park avoiding goals posts tree stumps etc gets a bit boring after a while even more so if its only you bashing so thought after 10 years its time for a change and always admired people down at wings and wheels :-) :-)

Buying spare blades up front isn't likely to be a huge advantage. When you have a crash, you'll probably break more than just the blades unfortunately!
Anyways. For learning , best get factory seconds from align-trex.co.uk

Welcome dude, I've only just started myself, bit just keep at it, phoenix for 20 mins a day or more whatever suits you.
The guys n girls on here are very helpfull and answer all my newbie questions, and its such a great thing to get into I don't think I'll ever stop learning.
As for spares I just buy what i brake.sigpic

I'm a year in now and have learnt a lot in a year I think
I used to love my rc cars but recently dug one out and bought a battery for it
One quick blast around the car park and I came home and put the car on eBay and sold it
it just couldn't interest me anymore, heli's all the way now

It sounds like you are pretty experienced with radios etc but there is loads of useful stuff there for newcomers to helis and well worth a read.Paul

There is no point going for expensive blades, I use
A-RMXGB600 | Ripmax GRP Main Blades 600mm
and they work great for me

Well guys I gotta say this is the warmest welch I've ever received when joining a forum and is very much appreciated :-) thank you I have thanked you all personally too jwatts007 you too are very very kind I do have a new jp power talk that got very hot when I was trying to start the heli without realising the fuel clamp was starving the fuel from the carb so I will try to sort this out 1st looks like the little spring clips got stuck do to the plastic melting ill keep you updated thanks for all the valuable info too guys :-)
