  • Oops, never fly too high...then get scared and drop the speed...

Haha, i always learn the hard way!

My CX2 Turned up on Thursday, literally tonight just got used to hovering it at around 5 feet in the air, overegged the power a bit and it started to climb, dropped the speed a little too much, and is descended rapidly, so chucked some power back on and it went straight into the ceiling, and made a nice drop and hit a box on the way down, only seems to have 2 of the blades, it still hovers AOK with it chipped however.

New blades on order, along with Phoenix...hehe.

Yup, been there.. now have spare blades. I've found the throttle is the most difficult control to master; up to press but the sim is helping a bit.
Cheers Steve. (CX2 Crash test dummy) Sokay, d'nt urt...

    Running repairs:
    1 New Rear Body.
1 New Inner Shaft & Gear.
    1 New Skid.
    8 Upper blades.
    5 Lower Blades.

I agree with Steve, the throttle was the hardest thing to master, as to the power and keeping it level.

We've all been there mate and your break even more blades before your through, but soon your have her flying round the room at full forward cyclic without hitting a thing.

Congrats on buying Phoenix not only is it better than any games console game, but your learn true flight skills that'll see you in good stead for future helis.

Did that with a Swift. First flight in an open field, not a clue what I was up to. Throttle curve all wrong, pilot crap. Opened her up and it was gone, 50 feet up at least, it was running on a 6 cell pack. Panic, shut throttle came down like a rock, just seemed to explode on contact. Left with a big pile of bits.

Interesting to read your comments Dean.
I am waiting for my Cx2 to be delivered today. I ordered 2 sets of top and bottom blades at the same time as well as the training frame a spare Battery and of course pheonix as the postage was free over 50 quid so thought may as well save as much postage as i could.

          Hurry up courier man........

Blades ahh I need loads of them! The Twister Hawk came with two sets and I bought another.

Was doing very well last night flying all around the living room, but slipped a bit and the radiator came off the wall! Honest! That was the end of the third set of top blades!

So will order a few more for the weekend.

I have already replaced the rear wheel, one of the front ones and the inner shaft!

Phoenix should have arrived today but no luck so fingers crossed for tomorrow. In the meantime it's 30 minutes of FMS then back to the Hawk!

              Regards

                      Hi Boggy,

Are you saying you know where to get them for £3 for two sets? If so let me know as I can only find them at £6 for two sets.

                      Regards

Flying these contra's in confined spaces certainly help's keep the fingers alive when the weather is cr@p.

Been doing nose in in our dining room which is just a bit bigger than a matchbox.

The vortexes and ground effect caused by dining room chairs etc means the Bell can be unpredictable (like wind outside) and has helped tune the brain.

Its great and I love it. (Not physically you understand)

                        Cheers

                          Hi Mark,

That's it then, the vortexes and ground effect that is! I was flying happily around my reasonably large living room last night. All was going well until I decided to land on a cushioned stool!

Oh foolish me! Kept getting near it and with my amateurish hand on the controls I was struggling every time I got near the stool. Then you guessed, I clipped the stool and another set of blades is required!

My Phoenix software is now arriving tomorrow, cannot wait!

                          Regards

                          Chris

Yep, the ground effect can be a real sod!!!!
