  • progress finally!

So after days of frustration and weeks of hovering nose out/nose in I think i've cracked it! Been flying my little nano dowb the local playing field (along with one of those new eflite zero's which are superb!) And can manage left/right hand curcuits along with figure eights. I even managed 2 successfull backflips! (Following several botched attempts!)

I am really enjoying the sensation that comes with hoying a helicopter around and I can honestly say I think i'll be progressing to bigger helis as soon as the budget allows!

Well done! Feels great doesn't it. Even a little nano can do you proud and because of their durability you're prepared to try/risk more. Looks liek you're on your way. Flips, very nice. I hear they flip better than the mCPx. Everytime I tried to flip an mCPx I nearly ate the bloody thing!

Look forward to hearing more on your progress.

I did them about 50ft in the air! I switched the elavator the high rates, pushed the collective up and pulled hard back then when it went inverted I moved the collective hard down untill it turned the righ way up. I do loose about 20ft of height doing them so more practice needed!

            Well done!!!
Progress is so satisfying ... i think because this hobby is so challenging the rewards are SO sweet when you nail something...
I know i had the BIGGEST smile ever and was shaking the 1st time i did an 8 with my 450 ... even though it was the most shaky/dodgy quality 8 the world ever saw ... still was a sign of my brain getting something

That can't be right. Small helis are too difficult to fly, what you need is a Raptor. Seriously though , it is easier when crashing isn't that much of a problem and the better you can get before flying a 450 or larger the quicker you'll get confident. Having enough height and space to allow for mistakes and gusts of wind helps a lot. I'd like to know what you think of your nano.

I found the little nano to be somewhat confidence inspiring and non-threatening due to its small size and durability. It has litterally been bouced off walls, scraped its blades on the ceiling and been crashed down behind the telly constantly!

Despite all this the only damage was a cracked canopy and a broken skid. As it turned out mcpx skids fit and are much stronger than the nano ones and haven't broken again!

It has handled everything a raw beginner like me has asked of it and more, it has enough power and pace to not become boring in the expanse of a large playing field. As it turns out it has a fair turn of straight line speed!

I can't really comment on its aerobatic ability, i can only just manage an interpritation of a backflip at nearly twice the height of a house but speaking as a beginner I think it is a brilliant little heli that clearly has more to offer me as my skills progress.

Thanks for that. I must buy one. I'm ok with inverted (most of the time) on the sim but not so good in real life. I used to bounce the msr about, but it wasn't happy about a mid air. It still flies but makes funny noises from time to time. The msr isn't so happy at speed.

It just slots in as per the stock one. There is room either side of battery as the mcpx one is wider but it doesnt move around in flight.
