    hi everyone the names joe

finally got my first rc helicopter today ... its a ninco air 378 alu-one g 3 ch helicopter ( i know its cheap but i didnt want to spend alot on my first one) tried to fly it three times today and all i succeeded in doing was breaking a blade snapping the skids and breaking the connector buckles to the rotor in different crashes ..... these things are very hard to fly

If you want to get anywhere you need a 4 channel heli. Anything less will not help as the controls are wrong and you will have to unlearn everything. Have a look at an mcx as a start.

            Hi Joe and welcome,
You are amongst not only nice people but also some of the best UK pilots currently> everyone here is friendly and happy to help in any way.

Dont get disheartened though, yes its difficult but if it wasnt it wouldnt be fun. I wont give advice on what to buy as a first heli as there are so many different routes and most have their merits. What I will say however is to find a local club and join, you will receive a massive amoun tof assistance (hopefully) and might even find someone to buddy-box with you which through the early phases will not only save you a fortune in crashes but will also grow your confidence far quicker than anything you could ever achieve alone.

Ive been flying Helis almost a year and in that time have gone from a Honeybee FP to a 700E in that time. I wish now I'd have started on a 450 size heli however.

              Hi Joe & welcome,
It doesn't matter how long or how experienced you are, you'll always be learning and trying something new, so crashing is just part of the hobby.
So don't get annoyed,,, maybe now and again you might dumb thumb it & crash doing something you've done hundred times before. Just pick up the pieces, rebuild it and get in the the air ASAP.
I had my 1st 2 night flights to nite with my 500,,,, 2nd one lost orientation and stuffed it in to the ground...
No one was hurt and the heli will be rebuilt and flying again by Friday
It has been said "if you ain't crashing!!, you ain't trying!!"
Chin up mate, we've all been there or are there
All I would say is make sure when you buy a heli, make sure you can get spares easy & cheaply, try and build up a little spares box so if you crash you can rebuild it without having to wait for the postman.
Don't loose heart mate. Have looked in to joining a club, it would
              help

im going to put some money in the bank and order the parts tommorow only 20 quid for the blade grips , balance bar , skids and canopy ..... think ill go a little slower this time rather than going straight for a high flight .... i will upgrade to a 4 ch when i have the money .... just to be clear 4ch are they the ones that strafe (im sure theres a better word but i cant think of it )

                  Hi and welcome

I'm guessing by strafe you mean will move sideways in a hover?

                  Yes they will

I went straight from a tiny toy coaxial apache to a blade cp pro

An mcpx can be tamed down nicely for a beginner, the sooner you get into collective pitch heli's the better I say

No. You need four channels of control. Roll, Pitch, Yaw and motor.

Blade mCX RTF (eflh2200): E-flite - Advancing Electric Flight

Each stick is used to control two things. Usually (called Mode 2) The right stick controls roll and pitch and the left stick controls Yaw and motor. Motor is up and down and has to be varied all the time for a hover. Yaw is controlling the heli about a vertical axis. Pitch moves the nose up and down and so makes the heli go forward or back and roll angles the blades to the left or right and makes the heli move left or right. A heli like the mcx with two rotors is easier to control than one with only one rotor.

I'd put the £20 towards something a little more airworthy.
