  • Lama V - Hovering Issues

    Hi,

I'm currently using the Century UK Lama -V Coaxial Helicopter in Stock form.

I was wondering if you could give me some pointers on how to setup the Lama V to hover. For some reason unknown to me I can't get the helicopter to hover, i've tried trimming on the controller but it continues to rotate anti-clockwise. So I adjusted the gain on the 4 in 1 reciever by turning it anti-clockwise to try and counter the tail drifting anti-clockwise, to no real avail. I'm taking the helicopter above 2ft, as recommended by many people i've spoken to. Furthermore i'm struggling to gain height, as i'm full throttle and only getting as high as about 2-3ft. When i first got the heli it was capable of climbing to the height of the house. Any ideas why this might be?

I have had some minor collisions, would this have effected the helicopters gyro or battery which may explain the issues i'm encountering? I've heard Li-Po batteries are easily susceptible to impact, which may effect performance, could it be i've damaged the battery?

Any help would be much appreciated.

turn the gyro gain clockwise not counter clock wise. and disconnect the battery for 10 seconds after you done the change. You must do this after everytime you finished adjusting any of the pots on the 4in1. The 4in1 must initialise with the new settings. You will never get it perfect because as the voltage of the battery drops then the tail will drift on this particular model. You'll find when you set it with the battery full it will be spot on then as the battery drains it will start drifting.

      Thanks Lee,

Will give it a go. I have more batteries coming in the post, should give me longer flying time. See how it goes.

Also when you connect the battery do it with the model on the table if your already not doing that is,
Seen so many people connect the battery while wobbling the heli around in there hand the gyro has no chance of a good lock while doing it this way
