    Firstly - welcome

Second - I really suggest you DO NOT attempt to fly without someone checking over your Raptor first & helping you get off the ground - literallly. There is an enormous amount of energy going around with those blades & they can do some terrible damage. Go to the club first - it will save you money & possibly injury.

Sounds like the gyro is not set up properly. It should stay tail in to you when lifting off, but helis are a little unstable when just off the ground & you do have to 'catch' them first thing to stabilise them into the hover.

We're not too far apart & if you want to come & join us at Himbleton ( Near Worcester) some time you'll be made welcome. We can fly there any day.

Keep an eye on the threads on here aimed at newcomers & set-ups. Also go to http://www.raptortechnique.com/index.html for the best advice on setting up your Raptor.

    Cheers,

youve not stated what gyro your using if at all, what it sounds like is that the gyro is not countering the torque on the engine, so either its not set up correctly or your not using one

ok Davids just answered with a good offer.
      All the best
