hi guys,i registered to this site a while back and im back in to rc helis.ive had x2 lama v3 and am just seliing my apache ah 64 at the moment.(bit too easy to fly)last year i bought a honey bee 6 Channel Honey Bee CP2 and crashed it and couldnt get it back together as it was a nitemare! wee washers came out everywhere and i gave up.last week i bought a twister v2 and just read some strange reviews on here.it was a nitemare also to set up and im hoovering ok at the moment and im dying to get it outside! going to give it a few weeks and see how i go and if theres no joy with my flying getting any better then im going to sell it and get something about the £100 mark.do you have any ideas as what i should get next? i was thinking of the honey bee? i just want a heli that if it breaks then its easy to get back together again.thanks in advance

hi andy - this is the hummingbird v4, its nearly the same as a twister v2 - [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3Zqm85QylA[/ame]

the twister v2 does fly but not very good in the wind - i flown my uncles twister lke the hummingbird in the vid but ive been flying for a couple of years and the guy in the vid looks experienced aswell. dont expect to do fly like that or you will smash ya heli to bits.

the twister v2 is 1 of the most easiest/most simple heli to work on and repair. not the easiest to fly though - it being a fixed pitch and wanting to turn all the time.

i started with a hummingbidv3 about 3 years ago then moved on to a honey bee king2 collective pich heli. abit more awkward to setup, work on and repair but when setup properly it will fly alot better than the twister and can fly in light winds.

    this is my hummingbird v3 - [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZLBp55ISiI[/ame]

    and king2 - [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mJ67_zu0sY[/ame]

i paid £75 for my king2 off ebay from hongkong and it was the brushless version.
the trex450se v2 is the helicopter to go for but that will set you back about £500 for the complete setup.

have you got a sim? if not you should think about getting the phoenix sin for about £79. most valuable training aid there is.

    let us know your thoughts

    regards - matt

they can be bugger to fix if you have a cash but i find thats the case with most helis. trick is - not to crash but crashes will happen. all you need to do is come on here and you will find out everything you need to know as there are a few rcheliaddict members that have king2's and belt cp's.

yes i have seen the king2 setup videos - excellent arent they(by subzero)

the belt cp isnt much different to the king2. the belt cp might be a better choice as its a 450 size heli and will be abit more stable than the king2. if youve not ordered a king2 yet then order a belt cp ;0)

when you get it - whatever you get, put the lipo on charge and we'll have a chat in the chatroom or something before you power the heli up and you cant really go wrong.

hope you understand the message - still abit early for me - not been up long

            regards matty

I find PC sims not very helpful for me. ive flown them for years but im still hovering and doing basic circuits with the real thing even though i can throw the heli's around on the sim.

sounds ok to me. you could get it slightly cheaper if you look around i bet. the best is pheonix, then realflight G3. i have realflight but havent used it for a while for reasons i explained in my last post.

i wouldnt write of your twister i had mine for 3 years before i upgraded to a belt cp last month and i still fly the twister indoors and out.

i upgraded the tail boom to aluminum i got from a builders merchants for about 70p a meter and stuck 2 carbon rods running at 90 degrees to the nomal skids making them resist impacts better. it fell down a 60ft tree just like my belt cp did and it came out with a bent tail boom and the tail rotor fell off, i had a spare so was back in the air in 3 minutes. the belt cp had a cracked canopy and a bent feathering shaft and took about an hour to repair.
