  • Hummingbird V2First Flight... well sort of.

So - I had my first ever proper RC Heli flight today and here's what happened, few questions as always, and help greatly accepted!

Well first flight(s) under my belt,

flew with modded training gear on (due to choosing the Airwolf undercarriage/body not accepting it properly) on my Humming bird V2, came away with two wheels missing!

Took it very easily but got caught by a small breeze which swept it into a one foot wall (no really it is true) which put paid to my wheels.

As it turns out it was a blessing in disguise as it led to me removing the wheels and mounting the training gear on some polystyrene blocks, which worked much better!

I've attached pics, which may also let some kind soul answer my query.

In flight my HB was pretty unstable to be honest, caught it once or twice which felt great, but still not what I expected.

What I have noticed is that the blades seem to be lower on one side by say 1cm, I'm sure the main shaft is not bent,so I can't understand the droop - again have a look at the pic if any ideas - they are welcome.

As soon as Midland Helicopters reopens I'm going to buy the standard HB skids and canopy, in the meantime does anyone know of any suppliers nearer to Sheffield?

Cheers guys and please enjoy the laughs at my trainging gear bodgit and scarper special!
