I have been poorly for over a week but decided to have a go today at tea time and this is my first ever go of this heli.
i have only 4 batteries experience in total with my 600 so this doubled my flight time.
I even managed to trim the blades out pretty well on my own
My first thoughts were wow this is very twitchy compared to my trex 600 yet i wasnt scared of it. In fact after 2 flights i had a go at softer landings.

I concoiusly made the effort to fly from behind at the left and at the right of the model and noticed it seemed to be livelier on the right?

i was having to fly with constant forward/left cyclic input to keep it in one place but i eventually trimmed it better although i now have to try and adjust it manually on the model

At least with the training gear on the heli just about sits above the grass, about time you got out there and cut it you lazy sod

They don't seem twitchy after a bit. Somewhere around 70% rates and 25% exp is a usual starting point. You have made your life difficult by flying in the back garden and close to the ground with training gear and being out of trim.

i quite enjoyed trimmimg it in and the challenge. thank you for the info. will put that to good use

You will find it easier when there is a larger space to fly in as you are less worried about hitting something and also I found it a lot more stable without the training gear on. Just get your confindence up a bit more and take off the training gear and you will love it even more!

I put Align 500 skids on my 450's. Got rid of the training gear by gicving me a bigger footprint to land/take-off from. Also kept the tail a bit higher off the ground.
