  • Hirobo Shuttle

    Hi
We have a Hirobo Shuttle that we have dusted off. The engine is the original irvine 36 which still goes ok. The problem is we can't stop the tail wagging.
The servos are the original futabas 148's which are now coupled up to a specktrum 6210 receiver. I have borrowed a 520 gyro but thats made no difference. I have set the gyro to analogue for the tail servo
I would really appreciate some good advice, thanks

    Welcome to the forum,

You need to look at new servos, the 148's were ok back in the 90's things have moved on a lot since then,
the Align DS620 or better the DS 650 would work well on the tail and set the 520 back to Digital.

I agree with changing the tail servo, the Futaba S148 is running at 4.8V: 0.28 sec/60° and 6.0V: 0.22 sec/60°
The latest Gyros operate Servo's at 3 times the speed and the servo cannot keep up to the Gyro, even if it is set to analog, hence the wag.

        The Align 650 is super fast at 4.8V: 0.06 sec/60° and 6.0V: 0.05 sec/60.

            Hi
The align 650 servo did the trick. the tail doesn't wobble any more.
            thanks again
