Looking for contact for Enfield RC club

Hi there,

I'm relatively new to flying - I used to (years ago) fly planks out West London way where I flew under the watchful eye of Dave Fisher, but didn't ever get into heli flying until a little while ago. I've spent the last six or so months practicing my heli flying on Phoenix, and on an Mcpx and recently (at 'Wings and Wheels' took a bit more of a plunge and bought myself a Trex 450 sport V2, which I have now built and taken out for a couple of tentative flights in Walthamstow marshes area (a large set of empty fields in the middle of nowhere) but realise I would be much better off joining a club and getting some advice, opinions etc and obviously being properly insured. For that reason, I am wanting to join Enfield flying club, but I've had two emails bounce back undelivered when I tried to email them at the address on their website.

So I'm wondering if anyone here has a contact, or is a contact for the club? I wanna join!

Can anyone help?

Hi Matt, Welcome to the forum . Check out British Model Flying Association - BMFA - Search for affiliated clubs by county and see if there is alternative contact details or even another club locally that you could perhaps look at joining

welcome to the forum matt .there is a few guys on here that fly at chingford (same club i think).hopefully they will see this and point you in the right direction.do they allow model flying on the marshes.

Thanks guys, ill take a look and see if there are any contacts on bmfa. I guess i should just pop along to the club too and have a chat!
To be honest im not sure if they do allow flying on the marshes and in fact i realised the other day that the 450 is a very different kettle of fish from the mcpx hence the sudden need to join a club and do this properly. Sorry for being daft an flying randomly. Ive just seen so many videos on youtube of people flying 450s in local parks, back gardens etc that i assumed it would be fine with a small heli. Perhaps not tho. . .
So off to chingford it is for me!

Something of a bump. . . I still can't get in contact with anyone at the club. . . Does anyone know anyone that flies there, or that might be able to help me out? Really want to learn to fly my 450 properly, officially, but it's proving harder than I thought. . .

Hi scallybert, thanks for your reply. So as it happens, I went out to the 'donkey lane' flying field on a sunny day hoping to meet some flyers and indeed I did! They mentioned that in fact anyone with insurance was welcome to fly there, so for the moment, that's my plan of action (I have rcha insurance) until I meet someone from the club and can consider membership. . .

Hope to see you out there some time. I'll be the one tentatively flying a 450 Sport and mcpx around the place when it's quiet!
