Popped down to Dave's shop today for a couple of 300X spares and a little chat.

Don't know why I've never been down there before, a real Aladdin's cave of a place and well worth a visit if you are in the area.

        Hi,

Glad Junior is on the mend....my Blade 300x arrived today from rcpitstop after ordering it yesterday afternoon, now that's whats i call service! i am a recent newcomer to helis, and learned on coaxial Esky KOB's and Blade 120SR for a while, so i know this is gonna be a handful.... Charging battery at the moment....i decided that lack of space was limiting my flying progression, as i have a small front room. So i decided that i needed a heli for outdoor flying, no 3D, just learning the basics for now... i know to to hover and do slow circles etc, but realise i might have taken on too much in the Blade 300x as a first CP Heli, but i just love the thing!....cant wait for maiden at the weekend, ...weather permitting...

Don't worry about it too much, Helraiser. Dumb down the rates and add expo to tame the beast. The thing is twitchy as hell for a beginner without dumbing it down. I failed to set a switch when I set my rates and expo (switched off) and when I got it into the air I was shocked at how twitchy it was for the dumbing down. Then I realised I had them off. Sorted that out and he flew great.

They don't seem to like too much wind. The 450X is much better in the wind but is considerably more intimidating. The 300X commands respect but not by making you scared spitless of it Just take it easy.

Oh, you do need room, plenty of room. It allows for a couple of mistakes before things get sticky. Height is your friend as well. I bet you know this alread

I'm taking Junior out lunchtime so will have a better feel for him by the time I get back. Only had one flight so far and a feral lump of grass stopped play quite quickly on. Caught and tangled a skid causing a sudden stop and spill £6 worth of damage.

          Have fun.

          Vikki.
