How do i stop the blades winding up with no stick ?

I had my first attempt at setting up a heli on my dx8. i am a total newbie.I have everything moving in the right direction and with the hold on there is no movement, however as soon as i knock of the hold the rotors start to go not really fast rpm but i obviously dont want any movement until i put some throttle on.
It is a 450 se v2 and my throttle curve starts at o%
any help would be much appreciated

Try reversing your throttle channel (3)

i think its the right way as when i put the stick up to half throttle its spooling up as i would expect.. i will double check now

Keep the throttle hold on, throttle stick at the bottom. Reverse the channel, unflick throttle hold with the stick still at the bottom. Nothing should happen until you apply some throttle

the motor was disconnected when i was setting up but i need to set it up to run now. it seems all ok except for the 200 rpm or so... with no stick

Have you calibrated the esc?

Is there any accidental trim or sub trim on the throttle stick / channel?

What ESC are you running?

i am unsure of the esc as it is not an align and has no visible markings. i tried reversing the throttle and that did not work. adjusting the trim down did stop it. am i further forward?
if so how do i centre the throttle trim?

arrghh.... it looks like the pitch is the wrong way around too as the cyclic moves down as i put the throttle stick up
