  • 3S Lipo Warm after steady flight

    Hi all,
I have just finished a hk250 and took it for it's maiden today, i have 2 850mah Turnigy-Nano lipos and after a steady flight of 4 minutes the lipos are warm. Is this normal?
They are by no means red hot just warm to the touch and stay warm for sometime afterwards.
When i fly my trex 450 the lipos are cold.

I can post specs of heli if needed and i am running a 250sp motor with align blx15 esc.

    Cheers

Yes it's normal - nano techs (I had 1100mahs 3 cells) are pretty bad. Also remember hovering required more power than FF so that may have also been why.

      Brilliant, Cheers.
Would you recommend ditching the Turnigy lipos? If so do you have any recommendations.

I suppose that is a plus side, especially with the poor weather in this so called summer.

no don't get rid of them - just don't expect them to last very long.

I used Loong Max tipples and Gens Ace in my Gaui X2 - neither were brilliant (only 20C) but they both came down cooler and with more charge left in them than the nano-tech 45-90cs.

I guess you can't go wrong with the OptiPower 850mah lipos but at £12.50 each they are quite expensive. Maybe also look at these ones:
