  • One Way bearing problem?

I've just fitted another main gear wheel as the last didn't survive an unscheduled arrival in the long grass during an auto practice. I used an old one way bearing that seemed ok and I gave it a good oil. I don't understand these one way things and a link would be useful. When I tested the heli the motor went round happily but the main blades didn't. I then moved the main blades around a bit and they then locked as usual. I tried again and the main blades spun up no problem. Does the bearing need to be replaced or is it ok once locked in position? (Once it works does it keep working)

The helicopter will of course fly with a locked auto bearing... but don't try an auto it... You will need to replace it if its locking. Just had to do mine on my 600efl pro. It kept locking, set it back in place then fly again... upon landing it had locked again.

The motor will spin the blades up no problem regardless of the auto bearing being locked. Its literally just to keep the blades spinning free wheeling style when the motor is cut. Which is why you wouldn't want to try and auto with a locked bearing
