Being new to helicopters having only flown fixed wing up to now, I also have the same trouble as TheD.

My heli has full right trim on transmitter and I have to hold on right stick as well, can someone tell me how to set the gyro to allow me to centre trims ?

Hope nobody minds me, a newbie, reopening this older thread. I've been given a Century neon blaze as a present and it looks the dogs wobbly bits. I've flown fixed wing inside and out for 20 years but helis have things like swash plates, paddles and collective pitch to bamboozle me. A good friend who flies helis (but unfortunately lives far away) recommended I make a training undercarriage so I've bought the ping pong balls today

Sorry, after all that rambling, the question, As I haven't got anywhere other than the back garden to practice would it be ok if not too windy?

hey peeps
just got myself a neon blaze on saturday i was really pleased with myself i managed to do a very low hover (iv never flown heli's before) but come sunday i broke it
stupid ping-pong ball slipped up the rod.... rod stuck in the ground then it all went very bad
so heres the damage:

tail boom
boom supports
tail blades
tail motor
flybar bent

so i got new bits but is there a certain way to set the flybar paddles ?

i JUST BOUGHT ONE TODAY,
BEARING IN MIND THIS IS MY FIRST EVER RC HELI,
AND LAST WEEK I SPENT £300 ON a 3D stunt plane and killed it within 4 hours of buying it,
i hope i do better with the blaze,,

tbh i charged the battery liek an hour ago,
i plugged it in,

and sent really low throttle,
and

the heli really, scared the s*** out of me


like im scared to touch the transmitter,

maybe i should of bought some training gear,

is this the best way about learning to fly it,

and my blaze pulled left too,

i held the under carrage whilst throttling it and it pulled left,

yeah, so wish me luck

In your case maybe you would be better to find a club locally to you. At this time of year there are several clubs that have indoor flyins.

All you need to do is find one locally to you and visit them. This will make a big difference as you can speak to someone who may be able to look over your heli and give you some sensible advice on how to learn.

If thats not possible then buy Phoenix flight sim and learn to hover in that first. Once you can hover on the spot easily then try flying again.

Helis are VERY hard to get going with and most people who attempt the way you are going generally fail.

We give this advice out ALL the time!!!

Beware, the tx you get with the Neon Blaze probably won't work with Pheonix: the MiniPred one doesn't.

hi andrew the answer to your question about what transmitter it is,well the whole machine is a walkera check out there web site i cant remember off hand which model it is but its there!!

hi yes my blaze does exactly the same thing i have full right trim and still have to push in some rudder i've got used to it now but still its a pain in the rear!! you can get it a little better one of the pots on the receiver effects it

I think it's a Walkera 59#D. And yes I've had the trim problem. Yours is trying to turn left so put a fresh battery in, hover it for a minute then land and disconnect battery. Turn the limit pot clockwise a tenth of a turn, centre your rudder trim on the Tx, reconnect battery and try it again. You may need to repeat this once more to get it dead right. With mine the trim is still out at the start and the end of a flight but stays pretty central for the middle bit. My thanks to someone on here (sorry for forgetting who ) that showed me this it's all to do with the differing battery voltage at the start and end of the flight apparently. Hope this helps

Anyone got any experience of the Century Neon Blaze? There's not much info' about it on the Century web site.
Is it any good for a newbie?
Is it aerobatic (3D?)?

It looks like this helicopter is a rebranded version of the 2.4Ghz Walkera V400D02 6-Channel Flybarless CP Helicopter. Which means all the spare parts are the same including the RX/TX compatiable. There is a brushleess Main Motor Kit available for the Walkera V400D02 as well as other mods that should work for the Century Clone.

The Century Neon Blaze (SE) is a clone of the Walkera V400D02. It is a nice beginner's FLYBARLESS 6-Channel CP Helicopter. It uses a tail motor which makes it very easy to repair. Additionally, with the 3G (#-Axis Gyro Technology), it makes the flybarless helicopter possible to fly. No more flybar rods and paddles also makes it easier to repair the main rotor section. We also did some mods for this helicopter including a Main Brushless Upgrade, Metal Gear (MG) Servos, Stealth Carbon Fiber Blades 531mm, Super Skids 400, larger LIPO Battery, ON/OFF Power Swith, and more.

Basically, this helicopter can be upgraded as you get better flying.

i have got this heli stashed away, its not been a very good flyier for me, repaired so many times ive decided not bother with it any more, could be used for spares if needed for some one.i use a century genius now i find it much better heli..

That's old technology as the new Flybarless 3G technology makes it much easier to fly than a bell hiller stabilizer flybar rod/paddle design. The flybarless desgin is also easier to repair as there are less parts. The Tail section is very easy to replace versus a belt drive. Aligning tail belts and tail gear boxes is very time consuming.

Going forward, the helicopter manufactuers will go flybarless as it costs less to make while still charging the same price. The consumer will like it as it is easier to repair.

Again, this is a beginner's 6-channel flybarless CP Helicopter. Upgrading to brushless will make it more professional.
