But I was wondering which out of the MCPX or the Blade SR is better or better suited for a beginner? I want to progress into flying 3D and from what i have seen both these Helis are capable of 3D flying. But which is the better option?

I would go the MCPx route but flying indoors is a bit more risky as furniture is hard and grass is soft lol. Like yuppyflier said put dual rates on as this heli is very twitchy to start with.

It depends on the beginner. Some of us like a challenge and others like an easy life. Smaller helis like the mcpx flown outside over grass are very survivable. They are not easy. Try the mcpx and find out its pros and cons and then go from there. If you find it too difficult or you want to do more outdoors or indoors you can leave it for a bit, get another more suitable heli and come back to it. I assume you have Phoenix...Flasher 450 Sport. Assan GA250 with 520 tail servo, MKS DS450 cyclic.

Personnally I wouldnt bother with the Blade SR, it can fly 3D, but the tail doesn't hold very well (motor driven), the parts are mostly plastic and there is there is lots of slop in the rotorhead. I would not say it is value for money atall. Maybe an Esky Belt CP? I have an Esky Belt CP V2, and they have launched a new one as well. Take a look at the belt cp X. Its cheaper and better than Blade SR. If you do do that though I reccomend that you buy some heavier blades, as its quite twitchy with stock ones. 002793 Belt CP X - Belt CP-for the heli. And HS1162 325 Carbon rotor blade weighted - Trex 450 for the blades. Good luck with whatever you decide!
