Do they lose there charge any quicker?

Mild puffing is normally ok. I have about 6 batteries in various states of puffiness and only one is now starting to go bad with a cell that is not charging properly. If you keep an eye on them, check the individual cell voltage and ditch them once they start to go bad, you will be ok.
Of course there will be someone who has experienced a battery catch fire, but if you are careful, store them properly and discharge and charge them as they are meant to be, the risks are minimalComment
