  • how did you pass the shaking?

after 6 months of sim, i flow my raptor, and on the first hovering i just clicked, and i done some forward and circuits, with the surprise of my italians mates that didn't expected that atm, but then, because i didn't expect my self to be able to, with the result, ImageUploadedByTapatalk1335819510.191356.jpg, so i did see the sim pay off.

My question is how did you pass (the fear-less) sim to the real world?

The first time that you realised you were flying an heli for real and not the sim were you shaking?

that is the feeling that i'm trying to understand an d trying to control.

    thanks for your input

Edit: changed the title could be offensive

The shaking never stops. There isn't many flight you have without some kind of heart stopping moment. It's not easy thats what makes it worth while.

Thats pretty much how I feel about it but I have to say it does vary from model to model. A wee cheap foamie plank I won't really shake but something I have spent either a lot of time or money I will shake. Other times it's just pure excitement that does it. But funnily enough I never shook while I was flying my 50cc edge540 :-/

If you're not shaking you're not trying hard enough

I get butterflies and my legs sometimes go, but it is getting better. However, the best leg shake I've ever seen was Sam Tses at Charmouth flying his Goblin, mine was going at the same time it was that manic

Fear or excitement, I was told when I first started climbing that often what we mistake for fear is actually excitement. There's very little difference between the two chemically speaking, both get you jacked up on huge amounts of adrenaline so the effects are very similar.

I'm still learning figure of 8's and just starting to attempt nose in and when I fly my 700 I shake...I don't with the mCPX tho as its like a real life sim...you crash, pick it up and fly again!

On my last flight last weekend I was shaking like mad...but then the weekend before I totalled my 500 (see pic of all the bits left that are not bent, cracked, crushed etc...) so was a bit nervous that I'd put the 700 or Raptor in as well!

I think if you're always pushing yourself you'll always shake, it's just the degree that varies

Iv'e flown planks for years and years and don't shake at all.
Heli's I shake like a fuc*in leaf, first flight of a session i'm like nowhere and can barely keep thumbs on sticks it gets that bad. after first flight i'm normally ok and i settly down but as someone else said first loops and i was ready to pass out! fortunately club member was on hand so gentle words of 'steady' and 'ok now just bring into a hover' I was ok but oh man!!!
