  • help please, gyro problem ?

    Hello,

I am a total newbie. I have a twister bell 47 medevac, I find I cannot stabilise the yaw and it's making it more difficult to learn to hover, walk etc.

The helicopter tends to yaw slowly to the left, even with the transmitter trim control hard over to the right . I have tried adjusting the gyro gain & yaw trimmer with a small screwdriver and have improved the situation slightly (the yaw trimmer is now also turned fully 'right'. )

    Any advice please? Thanks

When you connect the battery are you doing it with the heli sat on a table or floor so its rock steady as it powers up,
Ive seen so many people connect the battery with the heli sat in there lap or just held in there hands wobbling about as the gyro trys to lock, this will cause the heli to yaw badly it needs to be rock steady as it powers up and the gyro locks on

I agree with gaza, had the same thing with a mates blade 2 the other day and he couldn't get it stable. simple case of power down and back again while leaving it nice and still for the gyro to set itself.

try putting the rudder trim in the middle before connecting the battery.

also try turning the gain right down while the heli is turned off then plug the heli in and let it settle then turn the gyro gain back up then turn the heli off and then on again.

try getting the gyro mix right with the rudder trim in the middle and then you can use the rudder trim for fine tuning.

make sure you have the heli level and dont move it like gaza said.

        hope this works.
