  • Now I think I'm hooked and at a loose end

    Evening all

I think after being given a RC heli for christmas I'm hooked. But unfortunately the helicopter I was brought seem to be a pig to buy spares for( G.T. Model 3.5CH Radio Control Large Metal Helicopter with GYRO - QS8003) The place I brought it from are been a pain and not replying and the only place I've found spares are in Japan

Now I'm looking for a model that is a step up from the double blade and spares are easier to get hold of. The current one I have takes 1.5 hours charge and only lasts 10 mins. Surely it's not the same for all of them.

I've been told to takes look At a Blade mSR X but I would like everyone's ideas plz

Want something that is abit of a challenge and if I do break something which I will spares are easy to get hold of

    Many thanks guys

I would difinitely look at the msr- x or 120sr from blade, I have both and am saving for a 'proper' one now after mastering them. If you think you might take it up long term look at the deals witha dx6i transmitter included then you can get more bind and fly models or receivers and get up to 10 models on 1 transmitter. Otherwise you end up with loads of transmitters lyin around ,like me! If not get RTF- ready to fly.

I've bought from, Kings lynn models, wonderlandmodels, F1 hobbies, and fast lad performance. I think kings lynn seems to be cheapest for new models, some others for spares.

dx6i transmitters- Can people tell me what is so good about these. They look so hard to config ??

                DX6I - Transmitter only - no receiver. (mode 2)

DX6I Transmitter -Includes AR6210 receiver & remote receiver.

Can someone please explain the difference and will they both work with a MCR-X

                Im such a newbie

Imo the mcpx is way to twitchy to learn your first basic heli orientations . i would personaly go for the Msrx and without a doubt buy the DX6i with AR6210. Most people use mode 2 and once you have bought the Dx6i there are lots of tutorials on youtube about setting them up and there are also lots of people on here that will explain how to set it up for a perticular heli .hth

you will be able to bind 10 different models to it, so if you buy a msr when you progress (which you will quickly) you can get a mcpx you will be able to use bind both helicopters on it, then lets say you really want to come in deeper you will be wise to get phoenix(which is a great sim that will save you a fortune)again you will be able to use the dx6i with this, you can then get a 450 size heli and bind it to the dx6i.

the ar6210 is the reciever, the msr will bind without one( so i am sure the msr x will as well) yes and so will the mcpx,

So if the Msr will bind to it what does the receiver actually do.

Looking to to Fleabay or 2nd hand on here or bite the bullet and buy brand new

basically the msr has a built in reciever , you will only need a reciever when you buy a model that is not bind and fly.
be very careful on fleabay you could be buyin more trouble then it is worth which might put you off the hobby

i would recomend you find a local shop if you can, somewhere you can pop into and get help and advice whrenever you need it, you might pay a little more but on occasions it is worth it
