  • Help!

I have just bought a 4ch hirobo shuttle but it has no radio gear, I understand the heli can eventually be fitted with an extra servo intern i assume becoming 5ch - My question was if i buy a 5 or 6 channle receiver will i be able to just use the 4 until i upgrade?

If it is a Shuttle, then it's definitely 5 channels. It won't fly on 4.

Just read the manual and it can be flown with 4 channels, the pitch and throttle share a servo. Unique design of linkage

a quote from the shuttle z manuals front cover
"radio controler 4-channel and 5 serve" (no not my spelling of servo)

i would go with a 6 ch rx with a minimum of a 6 ch tx that has heli programing
        dx6
        futaba 6ex
        etc

you forget how bad the old electronic were in the old begginers set ups on the shuttle compared to the modern equipement we have today
i've flown one the other week with an old non-computer sanwa tx (no pitch or throttle curve adjustments) a sanwa sgx mechanical gyro with its own servo (103)
        Hirobo Turbulence D3
        a bunch of bls servo's and a 701 gyro
Powered by an OS91 hz and a MP2

i will assume they expect you to y lead the throttle and pitch servo together
i've only ever seen them fly with a full 5 seperate channels in use on the rx

and the said shuttle has now got the sanwa 102's and 103 replaced with align ds620's and 650 a 3g and a flybarless conversion
its not yet flown as i'm waiting for a 3.5mm tap to turn up to re-thread the aftermarket metal blade holders to use the trex 600 stand off ball
i've also remove the sanwa tx from use as the battery has had it
although its still on 35mhz with a futaba 9c tx and 8ch pcm rx

that manual should be about A5 sized from the shuttle ns
the later z,ztz,zx,zxx manual is A4 and doesn't show that diagram

the shuttle to see flying is one with the american electric conversion, a raptor 550e motor on 6 cell lipo's
                      its a rocket ship
