Hi all, I have been flying electric helis for a few years now, today I got myself a Thunder Tiger Raptor 30 with an Irvine 36H engine in it.
You may think this is a silly question, but do I mix oil in the fuel or put it anywhere in the engine??.
Any advice would be greatful. Thanks Michelle.

the fuel comes ready mixed with the oil
its best to use a fuel with 18-20% oil

Yup, fuel comes pre-mixed with oil & Nitro. Have you decided what fuel your going to use? The most common are Optifuel & Rapicon but there are other options (Bekra etc). For your 36 I would suggest 15-20% Nitro as being perfect for your needs

        Hi,
the way you've worded this question is as if you was going too mix up some unleaded with 2 stroke oil, like you would for a moped or scooter..
you do know it's pre mixed nitro fuel?
        I have a 30 size heli with an OS32, I use Optifuel 12% or 15%..
If you have any other questions, post them, it's better to ask than make a costly mistake..

Hi, thanks guys, it was for just peace of mind really, did not want to seize the engine up as its my first petrol helicopter.
Got it off the bay so travelled 300+ miles yeterday, I have been out in the garden with it and it starts up nice but my husband is telling me to wait for the training legs to come before I take off :-) better to be safe than sorry.
I fly up at Tewin, not with a club tho, just go over to the field have my fun and come home without hitting any dog walkers :-)
Thanks again chaps for your help.

Hi Steve, sorry for the slow reply, I put my 2.4 Ghz in my new heli and a short easy job turned into a long job, but it all fine now :-)
The reason I have not joined a club is cos there are none close ( or so I thought ) I did not know there was a flying club at Hatfield.
I would like to pop over sometime, could you send me the address please or does the club have a web site, many thanks.
