Fingers or thumbs?

OK this is probably a stupid question...But what is best using only thumbs to control the tx or pinch with fore-fingers and thumbs?
I have been flying for about a year now and initially forced myself to fly by pinching the sticks because I read something somewhere, as you do...but when I joined a club I noticed that most people fly thumbs only. Last night I got bored on the sim so I used thumbs only and it seemed as though I was able to react more quickly, but had slightly less control than pinching.

So who does what and why?

I use fingers and thumb and I am a great advert for thumbs only. Like you I'd be worried of the thumb slipping off the sticks and be interested how others do it

Bit of a compromise really...

thumbs ontop of the stick, and finger on the front part of the stick to help give it a bit more control when needed. Gives me more of a feel of where the stick is.

I'm thumbs only and have been ever since my first foray into R/C with cars 25 years ago, and can never recall having a thumb slip off a stick in all that time, but there's always a first !!!!!!

I'd say go with whatever you find most comfortable/confident as there's no hard and fast rules on these matters at all, it's just personal preference really.

I do both, normal flying about is pinch but when im doing anything piro ie caos, i go to thumb only on cyclics.... finger gets in the way lol.... Doh!!!

I started off with fingers and later moved onto thumbs and I feel I can move the sticks much quicker with my thumbs.

im not really bothered whether i fly any of them lol, i can switch between them sometimes during flights, i used to fly with my thumb on the top of the stick and finger on the side incase my thumb slipped off, it gives me a little extra time to correct

I'm fly usings acwmans method, can't fly usings just thumbs as I try and push the sticks through the box!
