Good call on the MCPX. If only they'd been around when I was learning, would have made the whole process so much less painful, and costly!

It will bind to the DX8 and will do pretty much whatever the Titan can do, and you have to try pretty hard to do serious damage

hi rob, bad luck mate, but don't give up. I crashed my titan a few times, had quite a few new bits, it's just something that has to be taken into account with this hobby im afraid, is your tail boom alloy? i had a blade strike on mine and managed to straighten it with a shotgun cleaning rod and then tightened the blades so they don't flop about. have you bought a flight sim yet? my advice would be to practice on one first rather than just go out and buy an mcpx, you'll just crash that too. another tip i found with the training gear, get some thicker rod to slide over the top and this will help stiffen it up a bit. good luck.

Sorry about the crash fella. Have you calmed the controls down using the radio?

Read up on dual rates and expo to calm down the cyclic response.

And dialling in a begginer throttle and pitch curve so that when you get nervous and slam that collective stick back to zero the heli doesn't bury itself in the ground!!

A 'normal' pitch curve has around 3 degree negative pitch at bottom stick which you don't want as a beginner learning to hover. Maybe 0 degrees or +1 so that if you slam the stick back in a panic it should float down.

Once you get into forward flight you need to go back to a normal curve or you'll find it difficult to lose altitude due go the translational lift (passing thru the air gives you more lift).

                    Hope this helps,
                    Matt.

You are not alone Rob, we were all newbs at some point, here's my video of my 2nd ever flight with my T-Rex 450 Sport, I have probably crashed about 6 times in total and now I just chuckle when I do (-:

Keep trying mate but one of the most important things is to make sure your helicopter is really docile, we can help if you unsure of the settings.

Rob me old son, it's the name of the game buddy, "Helicopters", with emphasis on the "HELL" bit. I've done soil hardness tests over the last year so often I'm thinking of going professional ! The average bang for bucks with my 450 is around £20-£30, seems to be never less. Last one was during an air test after a rebuild, one minute into the flight and "Buggerit !", dropped like a stone from 30 feet up in less time than it took for me to hit throttle hold . Guess what ? Another £20 worth. Do I want to continue this insane pursuit of the holy grail ? You betcher arse buddy. Spend and enjoy brother, there ain't no pockets in a shroud. Good luck.

my best crash was learning inverted, dumb thumbs when full positive pitch, hell sounded like it was digging it's own grave, very nasty.
