  • Possibly the dumbest question ever... What mode do you guys use?

    Hey guys,

looking to get a mini 4ch heli to have some fun around the house and sports hall with, and i want to know what mode most UK guys use?

Also, can anyone recommend a fairly decent 4ch heli for under £100 rtf?

just so i'm not learning to fly in the unconventional way :P

am i right in thinking its mode 2?

    Thanks!

    Joe

Mode 2 - i.e. rudder and throttle/collective pitch on left stick and aileron and elevator on right stick.

                  Thanks Ross
At least you trust me to fly your models mode 1 if I don't use my dx8.

I would choose mode 2 if I could start again
                  Cheers Paul

I fly Mode 2 for Helis and Mode 1 for Planks, can fly Mode 2 Planks too.
Been there and done that, but never stop learning.
Now too many Helis to mention?

being able to fly two different modes is certainly a skill in itself!

I originally learned to fly planks (long, long time ago) in Mode 2. I converted to Mode 1 for Aerobatic competition as it was a logical way to fly. My first Heli came with a Mode 2 Tx and it also seemed logical to fly Helis this way. I have taught Planks in both Mode 1 and 2. Just learning Helis. My son has stuck to flying Mode 1 for both Helis and planks.

Mode 2 is certainly the most common mode but there is a few excellent pilots on this forum that fly mode 1 (not me, I'm mode 2 and a crap pilot lol)
