Going by the prices and products I presume this was you Hobby King shopping list. It does appear you had 4 servos + 1 tail servo but with electric helicopter you only require 3 x cyclic servos and 1 x tail servo. Make sure the tx has CE approval or would be illegal for Use in the UK. You will definitely require more than 1 li-po pack. I have 10 packs for my 450, remember each pack gives 5 mins of flight.

Don't forget that if it is coming from Hong Kong that customs may add import duty and then VAT on top of the whole total Inc duty, shipping and item cost.

im going for 1 supplier to cut shipping costs. its from EU so no tax on it. as far as i know radio is legal. that extra 1 servo is option for tail as it may (or may not) work better with gyro.
I cant spend any more than 150 and im thinking, if this set is worth goin for 2nd start or should i give up? ;]

If you are trying to keep cost down, look at the Assan GA250 gyro from there. Got it on my Tarot 450 pro. Staggering performance for the money. Not sure it's up to 3D, but for learners like me it's perfect. From memory I think it was 7 or 8 quid!

I used to use el-cheapo servos (Tower Pro SG90) and in the first crash the gears would break and by the second crash they were sloppy and I'd throw them away. Eventually I replaced them with Hitec 65MG and I've never lost a servo since.

My point is that cheap servos are fine if you're not going to crash. IF you ARE going to crash, buy something more robust in the first place. Hopefully someone can suggest what good/ cheap metal gear servos HK do...

TowerPro MG90s have been recomended. I've just ordered one to look at. The gyro is the most difficult to get. The cheaper gyros are really bad and will screw you up. They tend to be very variable in quality, temperature sensitive and unable to work reliably in heading hold mode. If you use one in rate mode you may get away with it. But you may have to take it apart and glue the electronics in. (It's on Youtube) Also only use it at 20 centigrade.

There isn't a cheap way to do 450 helis, unless you don't crash. Spares cost a lot more than heli kits. About twice as much plus postage.

If you are on a limited budget consider an msr. Survives most crashes. The phoenix sim would also be worth looking at. You can then learn without having to buy spares.

The free FMS sim is also better tha nothing.

You know, I just can't help but think you'd be better off saving another £50 and getting a decent 2nd hand 450.

But realistically your first spend should be phoenix and a reasonable TX, It'll be cheaper in the long run and you'll have a lot less headaches.

I went down the Clone route for my 1st 450 and bought the HK450GT Pro mainly due to the price, Just be aware this is a very cheap heli with very cheaply made parts! My initial thoughts were 'It will be ok' but after the 1st flight i knew it wouldn't! wasn't impressed with it at all and the second flight something went wrong in a banked turn and down she went in big style, The head assembly is made of such soft alloy the main hub actually twisted out of shape!
I never bothered repairing it but went for another clone from 'Heli's From Devon' The Gootch 450 Pro, A proper torque tube clone and i must say a very very high quality clone!, I have compared some of the bits to genuine Align and i just cant tell the difference, It fly's absolutely lovely and is still only £69.99 + P&P

Im not new to it. Im returning. On my old beltCP i was in past hover phase of learning and crashes were limited to indoor crashes only . Also never used hh gyro before so cant say anything about them, but "mastered" standard gyro on that heli. Have phoenix already.

Thats funny. I pick HK kit only because it was recomended by its users. You are the 1st person who didnt like it

Dont get me wrong i may have got a duff one, I could be a half way decent heli if you replace some of the main bits for Align (main shaft, Feather shaft, tail parts etc etc) but for me the Gootch 450Pro is of much superior quality and all parts straight out of the box are absolutely fine. And 'Heli's from Devon' hold full spares in stock in the UK
