    Amit here again.

I have several queries today (unfortunatley).

Firstly, I've been wandering what servos do and how many you need etc.
I've got 4 futaba servos and 1 digital servo.
Do they all go in the heli? Or just one etc. I'm completely lost.
I've seen one in a heli but what are the other 4 for? And the digital one..?

Secondly, some more problems with my Aerofly professional sim. It's really wierd, everytime I touch the SILVER area of my transmitter or the ariel, I get a signal and channels are displayed. But everytime I don't touch it, the channel bars remain dead and theres no signal. Is there something wrong with my transmitter or the sim?? (Futaba FF7)

Lastly, another prob with the sim.. I don't know how to configure the radio channels to the switches. E.g. Throttle/Elevator to a certain channel. When I go into fly mode, the helicopter just keeps spinning and spinning in a anti-clockwise motion, and the controls are completely wrong.

Please help me as this is the only resource to get support from.

There's only so much you can put in a post- go to your local model shop and buy some appropriate books on the subject -- a lot cheaper than simulators.

Servos control the heli basically, one will do the throttle, one will do the pitch of the main rotors, one will do fore and aft cyclic, one will do left and right cyclic, and one will control the pitch of the tail blades. They connect to the swashplate (via mechanical mixing gear) by pushrods.
They will all be controlled by the two sticks, the main blade pitch and the throttle is mixed electronically so is controlled just by up and down movement of the left hand stick.
I dont know anything about simulators, but as for the digital servo, because that is a very accurate servo (in terms of movement) it is often used for the pitch of the tail blades (rudder).

check this link out it will make things clearer

Have you got the computer connected to your transmitter with the correct wire which you can buy from the model shop?

I see, I've sent the leads into JPerkins for a check up. Thanks for all the support, my conclusion is buying an Indoor Hummingbird CP in July

                  NO NO NO

As Others on this forum warned me dont do it.

As you may or may not know I had a dead shuttle and so went out and bought a hummingbird.
I took it back two days later, what a pile of poo.

They are a great idea but about as sturdy as a deck of cards.
I could hover my shuttle and move it around a bit but within 1 hour of getting the hummingbird running I broke the blades, the undercarriage the servos split open Oh and it wouldnt fly properly.

I took it back and the guy in the shop said "thats what they are like"

Forget it you can keep it, maybe if I was a 3d master then i might give one a go but if your learning dont do it .

                  Best Regards

                  David
