As a newcomer to helicopters I found the paper very useful and interesting. Should be read by all newcomers who want to understand whats what with the gyro. Many thanks. Mike

Pico z * 2 (I know they arent 'proper' helis but they are to blame)
MCX - Got bored after a fairly short time.
MSR * 2 (my current favourite)

Thanks for your explanation about gyros. I've been misunderstood gyros for a long time.

                      Thanks Bob.
I have been flying planks for a few years but thought I would try helis as they are east to fly Ha Ha Ha.
Started with an mCPX as I wanted something that would take foreward, after a very steep learning curve I am now thinking about the next step but need to do my homework.
                      Thanks again

I'm currently working on an update so have temporarily removed the link.

I have a question about Align gyros since I have never used them - do they have a rate mode, or are they HH only? I know the CYE gyros (have tried one) are HH mode only, but are they the only ones that do this?

                        Work in progress.

yes, they have a rate mode, in effect turning the gyro off.

Read all the links etc. Really excellent. I now understand how it all works, till tomorrow when I'll have forgotten it all again.

Trex 450 SEV2, hack, freeby, but getting expensive. Binned the bu**er !

mCPX, better than a Phoenix anyday.
                              Several planks, gathering dust.

Brains and thumbs work okay, but not at the same time.
