  • Heli "A" Cert.

Finally got my "A" cert with my Mini Titan last weekend. Very gratifying indeed! Need to consolidate my flying now by getting plenty of stick time and practice and to explore (very carefully!) further areas of the flight envelope. Happy with slow and fast flight and getting into nose in as well.
I'd like to work my way up to simple aerobatics, so I'd appreciate some set up advice and some tips about how to proceed.
Have been working on the sim and can manage tidy stall turns and loops and have programmed the tranny with more appropriate idle up curves and have experimented with the settings....just a case of plucking up courage to try things for real.

      Congrats mate

I might look to get mine this year too. I've never had a BMFA cert, so will be nice to be "officially" proficient at flying

nice one, well done- seems like it's all the rage at the moment.

I'm not sure if I am going to get to do mine tomorrow night given that the wind is forecast 20-25 kts- ouch- that will need a bit of leeway!!

The tricky bit is doing the lazy 8s when you go upwind and then turn to go downwind, one minute your airspeed is like 20 knots plus walking
pace and then when you turn downwind you have to go back elevator so that your airspeed is minus 20 plus walking pace. But if it was all a crosswind it may not be so bad. But yeah, the hovering would be no sweat.

Congrats Kev, its a great feeling knowing you can walk to the flight line alone and not have someone telling whats what when you want to fly.
