Looking for first Helicopter

My significant others birthday is coming up. He always talks about wanting a remote controlled helicopter. A couple of questions:

1) What would be the best type to get a first time user? It does not have to be cheap, but I do not want to break the bank, either.

2) Are there any clubs for this in the Philadelphia, PA area?

I have just started this year with RC helos. I suggest a Raptor 50V2 PLUS OS 50SXH, w/TT Carbons $549.99. I got one of these from this web sight.

Everything was delivered on time and with no problems. The helo is
bigger than some, but it makes it more stable while flying. I suggest getting a simulator and some training gear for the helo until he learns to fly. And read everything you can, there is a lot to learn in this hobby
