  • tick over problem.

Not sure if I've got a tick over problem or a dragging clutch the motor is an os50 hyper and the heli's only been hovered and gently flown about while it beds in but anyway i cant get the tick over low enough to stop the rotor head moving I've had to lean it up about 15 degrees from the factory setting because it was running really rich, the motor pulls well and doesn't splutter on pic up but on the lowest idle setting i can get without it cutting out the rotor head starts moving, its only moving slowly but i take it the head shouldn't move at all? The main rotor gear spins freely without any clutch bite but that's about all i no.

You want the idle to be rough and splutter on pick up (if you want your bearings to last.) The Hyper runs lean around the mid range so you you have to have a rich bottom end to compensate.

I find even now (Raptor is over a year old) that when i first start the engine it grabs the clutch a little but after a flight and the engine has warmed the idle is OK.

          I find that too.
The rotor will tun a bit when the motor is ticking over - but just slowly on its own. Wind exaggerates it sometimes.

i'll stick with it then and see if things loosen up to be honest they only turn slowly and it really wouldn't bother me but its bloody awkward trying to get the canopy on while holding the blade's i'll invest in a remote starter or bendy heater.

Had the same prob with 30 v2 and changed the clutch to a heavy duty clutch , not TT brand and prob solved . Dousn't bite early now at all. Changed clutch bell as well , only 25 quid to put out worth a try maybe..
