  • What's the best blades for a beginner

I now have my Logo 400 Flybar and I’m getting all the gear I need to get it built ready for the summer. Having used the forums to glean every bit of advice on the right gear, I’m struggling to decide on what carbon main blades to buy. On the basis I’m likely to 'damage' my first sets of blades at some point in my learning cycle. What make blades should I really start off with?

    Do I

    1. Buy cheap £20 blades knowing that they are not the best but ok for the task of learning and then when ready buy better ones.
    2. Buy RJX or similar £40 blades which are better and will hold out, but it's more each time I ding them.
    3. Buy Edge or better blades that might make the heli better to fly and less likely to ding them.

I'm really undecided on what to do. Would somebody please impart their guidance or experience?

    Thanks, Nick

I've recently been using a pair of carbon blades from Hobby City on my TRex 500 and they compare pretty well to the Align Carbons I had before. I fly sport/aerobatics but no proper 3D. I'd say they'd be absolutely great for a beginner. I'm not 100% sure which ones they are but they look pretty much identical to these:

HobbyKing Online R/C Hobby Store : TIG 425mm Carbon Fiber Z-Weave

High postage charges though so probably only worth considering if you are going to buy some other items at the same time.

        This is my fear.

If option 1 is best, can I go far wrong with these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=120677503767

I always used Align blades at the start.

Good blades and not too expensive

Not sure blade size fits ur Heli?, but midland do the align 425 but imperfect (slight scratch or not 100%finish on the blades) about £5 less than the normal.

U will crash so the cheaper the blade the less pain or ur wallet

What level is your flying? If you are at the hover & lazy 8 stage, there's no point buying expensive blades. I used Align fibreglass, and they were fine for that sort of flying. The cheap HK carbons should be fine also.

I'm at the regular Pheonix practice whilst getting the Logo together stage. The only thing I'm flying is the mSR.
