  • Nyloc nut and thread lock?

    Carrying on with my Trex 550e 3g build - do I use loctite on the nyloc nut on the Jeezuz bolt?

    Noo you don't use locktite on any nylock (plastic) nut, it will disolve the nylock (plastic ) bit.

      No, you dont need to. They are designed not to rattle loose.

        Thanks Rachel, that's what I thought - was just wanting to double check that threadlock didn't go on the part of the screw that was metal to metal, if you know what I mean, before going into the nylon.

            its good to check so you just ask away but as a rule loctite and plastic = no !

            If you want to secure a screw into plastic you can use a tiny drop of superglue.

            and remember wipe the threads of any bolts first as it helps the loctite bond.
