  • Sizing Ball LInks - X50

OK ... JR sizing tool & ball links .. ready to go.
    I watched the video:
    http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=...l_Links101.wmv
several times but still not clear.

The standard links have a largest diameter on the side without 'wording' ... i.e. in my case the wording 'raptor' is on that side.

The video shows sizing tool being put in on the side without the 'marking' i.e. the larger diameter.

When you fit then onto the ball - is the letter side then facing out (for example) away from the swash plate.

The kit also has double ball links .. in this case these have the letters on
Lagest diameter side which is the opposite of what it says on video, is this correct ?

The opposite of single ball links ?
Some people will always find fault - if you find a typo, consider it put there for you.

Treat the ball link sizer just as though it was the ball you are going to fit the link onto.

These links are only designed to go onto the ball or the sizer in one direction, don't force them the wrong way at any time.

I don't have the heli where I am right now but if nobody else replies I'll check the small double links for you in the morning.

Remember the video is generic and every manufacturer does something different with their links so don't try and follow something like the position of lettering on the video just go with what is correct for the links you have in front of you.

      .

Follow that and for single links that means you have the largest diameter facing in and letters facing away.

It is the double ended ones that all check as opposite of this ?

Want to be sure before I attack them.

Just checked the double links and yes, the letter is on the larger side so the letter will face towards the ball, the opposite of the single links.

I can't over-state the need to go very slow when sizing ball links.

It is extremely easy to go too far and ruin the link.

You will not need more than one or two rotations of the sizing tool a lot of the time so don't stick it on and go mad.

Better end up a little stiffer than ideal and let them wear in than over do it and have a link pop off in flight.
