  • Here we go again...

Firstly, a thank you to everyone who has responded to my various newbie questions over the past few weeks or so... all the advice is much appreciated.

Now to my next trex 550e 3g build question! I am about to mount Savox servos and notice that they are supplied with star shaped servo arms rather than single arms. Is this an issue? I've measured the required 13mm distance out from the centre and can see that the 4 point star for want of a better term fits the bill with its third hole out.

Will the other 3 arms get in the way of anything requiring me to cut them off, or am I good to go with what I've got, obviously being careful to centre the servo and remember which arm should be attached to the ball link.

    Your advice gratefully received!

    Thanks.

    Hey

Well, if the 'spare' arms are not fouling anything then you should be ok.
Most people chop the extra arms off.

Snip them off unless you have a reason to keep them.

Make 100% sure you have the correct angle before doing any cutting though.

If they happen to move the full travel without binding then leave them on.

Ok, thanks. I've just looked again at the instructions and see that the 13mm measurement relates to the tail servo. The cyclic servos diagram just talks about using the inner hole on a two hole single arm for a 3g setup. As I don't have these arms, do I need to buy them or can someone tell me the distance of the centre of that inner hole to the centre of the arm mounting hole?

        Thanks again.

Actually, scrub that last question. Far easier to spend the couple of pounds on the right horns, particularly as I'm using vbar and need to get the geometry spot on.
