  • storm 3d motor

ive got a weird little problem on a storm 3d..when throttling it up on the ground it starts to spin ok then gives a little kick then it revs fine and runs ok ..if it was a petrol engine it would be just like a flat spot on acceleration ?
ive checked all connections etc..drive gears are ok and everythings tight and looks ok. just wondering if its a sign the motor is gonna go.. or maybe the esc?

I'm using the same esc that I've had for over two years and I've gone through two storm motors. Both failed with bearing problems. The shaft was rotating in the bearing. It could be anything though. From my experience, it's usually best to stop flying until you find it (Or hover close to ground so a motor fail just results in a gentle landing). How old is the motor? There's a nice £10 one available from Giant Cod I'm using in my HK450. I'll dig out a link if you want Keda (450 3200kv I think). You can send me the motor if you want and I'll test it. I want to put new bearings in one. Probably ceramics.
