  • Walkera 4G1B

    Hi all,

I have a walkera 4G1B on order which is due to arrive tomorrow.

is there a battery upgrade for this heli ? it has at stock at 3.7v 1000mah lipo battery, which gives around 8 - 10 mins flying time.

is there a battery that anyone could recomend that will give me more air time ?

    thanks in advance

ok, so i went to take it out for a first test flight and encountered a problem.. lol

Iam a beginner with this type of heli, all i have flown is cheap 3ch syma's so this is my first 4ch heli with a bit of poke.

when i go to take off it seems to just bank to the left and will not even get off the ground, i cant see what is causing this at all.

no matter how much throttle i apply it just tips left.

at home on the wood flooring it seems to drift left as soon as the rotors spin

any advice would be great, if there is a simple solution to this it would be fantastic if someone could let me know what it is.

    Thanks in advance

    wayne.

          Thanks for the reply.

what i did in the end, i managed to get 5x 3.7v 1000mah walkera batteries from ebay for £21.00 for the lot from china, so on the battery front iam all sorted.

the drifting i understand is normal for fixed pitch heli's, plus the swash plate was slightly out on level, for which i have made an adjustment, it still goes left on take off but no where near what it was doing.

Hi there. Yes a heli with a main rotor rotating clockwise when viewed from above will always drift to the left. Reason: thrust to counter this torque provided by the tail rotor has a component also acting to push the heli to the left [when viewed from behind].

Whatever the heli, get used to setting it up, and get even more used to being pedantic doing that.

i have noticed that, as the battery voltage goes down it just spins and you have to adjust trim all the time.

                your not alone lol
