  • Ball Link PLiers (size?)

Advised to get Ball link pliers, was given this link:
    Fast Lad Performance
Started assembly yesterday went to use it for first time and it does not fit the linkage balls .. the slot which you would use to fit behind the ball when using pliers for ‘fitting’ the link is not big enough ... it physically won’t go behind ball.
Is there a different size required for 50 Heli’s ?
    Build is TT X50

It sometimes depends on the ball, there should be a short shaft on one side of the ball which shoud be inwards when assembled, this short shaft creates the space for the fork of the ball link pliers to fit behind the ball.
Check your balls aren't the wrong way around

Not sure if I'm following this .... the ball ends are screwed into control levers. mixing levers etc.

So can't get them wrong way round.

The pliers when used for attaching 'Ball link ends', would be used with small slot behind the ball and large slot over the 'ball link end' ... to press them on.

The issue is the small slot is 3.3mm wide the width of the base of ball is 3.86mm. (ball diam is 4.77 mm)

Maybe I bought wrong size pliers ... hence question if there are different size pliers, or do I have to file away at the small slot until it fits ?

Hoping to avoid buying yet another tool

But if it is just a case of opening up, I can do that with a file.

Some helis, like the Blade 400 and E-Sky helis, use a 4mm ball size. I guess that even smaller helis will use smaller ball sizes than that. Pliers gap 4.1mm and 4.5mm
            TRex 450 uses 4.75/4.8mm balls.

Looks like you've got a pair of pliers for a smaller heli.

I'm surprised that FL don't give the ball size their pliers are intended for.
Fast Lad Performance Pliers gap 5.1mm and 5.7mm
The pliers in the tool sets will fit the TRex 450 I don't know what size ball links that 50's use but someone on here will.
