  • 120 sr = tank!!!!

My latest Investment in the heli world is the E-flight Blade 120SR, for those who do not have a clue what this is yet it is a fixed pitch single rotor heli which is ideal for those pilots who are just graduating form the coaxel heli such as the MCX.

well basically this heli copter can be seen as yep....A TANK. The first flight i had of it, it managed to cope with high speed passes, lazy eights and and fast circuits, and it was brilliant it is extreamly responsive, on the controls which allows for a very enjoyable flight. During the third flight it decided to take a straight nose dive in to the ground nose first at speed, at this point like most pilots i expected there to be pieces of blades and a conopy every where a big 120 sr shaped whole in the ground but you would be wroung. i simply picked it up et it go and it was up and away with not a single scratch on canopy or a chip in the blades, since then it has had a few more knocks including a collison with another 120 sr in which they both just took off straight after the accident......

I would strongly recomend the chopper to any one even those of experoance because it is one hell of a fun day out

    Cherrs

Does this mean that you have taken the advice of the collective wisdom of the forum, and given up on throwing more good money after bad and cancelled the honey bee bling?

The nose dive into the ground is something you need to watch out for on fixed pitch heli's.If you get up too much speed in forward flight it will dive, and there is not alot you can do to save it

I seem to remember my old Piccolo used to pitch up in FFF but it was a long time ago and I may well be completely wrong

dunno Phil maybe they all have a tendency to loose the ability to fly fast! but the blade's all seem to want to dive once you get some speed up.even the cx2 used to do it.

This is the polar opposite of a friend's experience with the SR. It was very fragile and sustained damage requiring new parts in even the most minor of mishaps. I was wholely unimpressed.

Think you might be getting the SR confused with the 120SR Sheryl. Two very different helis The 120SR is just a big mSR. Both can take quite a beating

I'm thinking of the one Jimbo had, was that a blade SR or a 120?

He's got both (Two of each actually) but the SR is the one you flew, and I have to agree, it wasn't that impressive
The 120SR is a slightly smaller (Or to be more accurate, its an oversized mSR) fixed pitch heli that flies really nicely and is very beginner friendly
