I don't know what servos those are (for hornet?) - ideally, you want to use Hitec HS56 or HS65 servos (x3) on cyclics. Perfect gyro (401) - not sure about the align servo for the rudder though...

Finally, I would not put an FM receiver in an electric helicopter. Interference is an issue. I suggest getting a PCM receiver (Futaba 146IP perhaps) or a DSC type receiver (I use one myself) like the Sexta 6 channel receiver from RobotBirds.

Side note... The servos that come with a Futaba FF7 Tx don't fit in the Trex450...

I Think Rob has covered it well above, but I would just like to add that the Align tail servo isnt up to much so you are far better off with ideally a futaba 9650 or a 3153 instead.

        Cheers,
        Pete.

NO! I don't know where they get the price from.

I'd go for the 450 se v2 comes with carbon blades, battery, motor and esc in the kit - anything form £265-£319
          401 gyro - £99
          9650 or the s3154 for the tail - £22
          3 x Hitec HS56 - £14 -£20
          Cellpro 4s charger - £60

Now in IMO thats a good set up and it still doesn't get close to £635.

As for the TX i'd go for the DX7 if you can get one

As mentioned - I wouldn't use an FM receiver in an electric heli due to interference/glitch issues. It will most likely make for a less pleasant flying experience for you (nothing to do with being a beginner - just the way it is ).

I dont get it getting all the equipment you lot are saying to get costs well over £700 from skyline models 01494 484545. rombonie said it wont come close to £635... The transmitter would be Futaba FP6 by the way. Anyone ring them up and get a quote for me or somehting lol or suggest somewhere else, or give me a price, i wasnt really expecting to go over £600 but if need be I have to.

                  Hi LUcas,

The price's i quoted are pretty much retail, you can get the above setup i posted for £500 but i wasn't including the TX, add that to the prices quoted. Your orignal post doesn't mention the tx being included either, does it come with it included?

You would have to shop for the 450 at a good price, i paid retail.

For the cost you really should start with the right servo's on the tail and the cyclic, the correct setup for the tail will help your learning curve big time and the good servo's on the cyclics will hopefully not let you down and cost you a large repair bill when one breaks on you.

There are cheaper ways to do it but it will cost you more in the end

                  cheers dor

The cheapest place to buy a Tx seems to be from www.inwoodmodels.co.uk.
                    FF7 is £99.

When you say TX I guess you mean transmitter?

The price was including the transmitter.

                      What is the cyclic?

So would you be able to give me the list on what I would need and how much it would cost

                      cheers,

                      Luke

Yes, TX = transmitter (sorry...) - Rx = receiver.

Cyclic is forward/back and left/right movement (Aileron and Elevator) - on an eCCPM system, this is controlled (along with Pitch) using three servos.

This is a good article: http://www.trextuning.com/buyersguide.php
Bearing in mind that you only actually need the items in the list down to the Charger line. Stuff below that line is optional/useful but not essential.

                        Cheers,
                        Rob

                          Think Robs cover that one.

You could of course always start with a cheaper 450, just a thought.

                          Cheers Dor

it will be a lot more powerfull and 'exciting' than you sabre......

and with the gear your putting in should be a whole lot easyier to fly
