  • which heli?

    Hi guys, just joined

about a year ago i have a E sky twister(i think it was one of those) i then had to sell it
but i now want to get back into heli's
my first one was a bit of an impulse buy so i dont think it was the best i could get for my money
i also didnt have it long enough to learn to fly it particularly well

anyway could someone suggest some good heli's for me to (kinda)start out with?
my budget is around £100(if that is a reasonable amount?)
and im looking for somthing smallish and electric, somthing i can fly on a still day
and ofcourse strong and be easy to get spares for

    are these any good?
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4-ch-Honey-Bee...QQcmdZViewItem
or any of these(this is my local hobby shop so i can get parts for all of these easily)
    http://www.galaxymodels.co.uk/new/re...rs%20(Electric)

    thanks
    Sam

        Battery: 3S Revolution 2100 = £30.53
        Charger: CellPro 4S = £57.58
        Gyro: GY401 with Futaba S3153 servo = £125
Futaba T7CP (Field Force 7 = code no: RAT1FF7LN at Inwoods can't link to product, sorry) = £99.99

Also - 6 channel Hyperion DSP receiver and crystal = £50

Add in some postage charges and you're all set!

well iv been having a think and i cant realy get that much money for a heli

i think im going to have to go with the honeybee or somthing similar

can i ask if i should get the 6ch heli's or the 4ch ones?
am i right that the extra channels control the pitch of the blades allowing it to fly upside down?

you are correct there. i would see if u could stretch your budget just a tad more to about £200 for something like a mini pred which will have a belt driven tail. and so enabling you to get much more out of it.

not sure if others will agree on this but ive seen the minipred flying up against honeybee type models and it looked a lot more stable and controllable (espiecially the tail)

            hope this helps

I agree with tom. If you can stretch your budget a bit you are far more likely to stick at it. The honey bee/twister cp type helis are notoriously twitchy and difficult to fly.

What ever you buy ignore the "flight tested and ready" sticker on the box - they lie!!!! Get some help setting it up because trust me everything will probably be a mile out which will obviously make life even more difficult.

              Hope this helps

                Hi Sam,

I know where you're coming from on this, I can sell you a Twister cp v2 with extra batt, all alloy upgrades and carbon blades and rotor. All set up and ready to go. If you're interested?

I can also confirm that these are twitchy little buggers unless they are set up spot on and they are still abit flighty at best, but great fun

                Cheers Dor
