What kind of tightness should it be..ohhhh and ive been using a little wd40 on the gears and belt at the back, should i stop sparying the tail gear with wd40???

ohhhhh one more thing how long should a belt last?????? in hours if poss....

If your belt has teeth missing don't fly it - wait until you replace it!
When it fails (and it will) it will result in a lot of damage which could be avoided cheaply and easily.
I use Pledge polish on my belt but I have heard of WD40 being used. I was concerned about WD40 damaging or rotting the rubber in the belt.
IMHO, A belt at the correct tension should last ages (years maybe). Unless you crash of course
As well as a general look over the heli, I tend to check the links for any looseness and also check belt tension as that changes with the tempreture.

What about a few teeth missing off the main gear? Maybe, 5 teeth in the same spot? (Trex 450SE)

Sound horrible, but is there much of a danger? The only thing I can think of is possible engine damage, as the motors little gear might rev each time the missing teeth come by, but the momentum of the blades should stop that happening as the gear wouldn't slow enough to cause a problem at the point the teeth aren't 'biting'?

Sorry notscratcher. You're query about the belt is answered. I have a similar problem, except the teeth are missing off the main gear, so was hoping someone could tell me if I am grounded as well.

Again, don't fly it!! Replace the main gear before your heli lands you with a bigger bill!
The motor revs will rise considerably while it is in the "gap" on the main gear putting a load of stress on the next availible tooth until that one comes off and the next one and the next one etc.
                Cheers, Lee.

                    I agree
The gap in the main gear teeth will let the motor over rev, then when the good tooth arrives it might snap off - also it might just climb on top of that tooth and suddenly slow or stop.
Keep a main gear in reserve spares.
you will never break the part you have already as a spare. (unfortunately you will break something really strange and unusual instead).
This is why some people buy two complete kits, and one set of electrics!

                        To recap.

Use a silicone polish like Mr Sheen not WD40 as stated.

To check the belt tension, it should be tight enough that you cannot push one side of the belt against the other, but not so tight that it wont move with a little pressure. (You check this where the belt goes over the pully just behind the main gear before the tail boom.)

                        Cheers

They make gears and belts with a full set of teeth for a reason.

Whatever you order after a crash or whatever you call it, order two, one for the heli, one for the tool box ! or have two helis !!
