  • Spy Hawk heli - PG-03 piezo gyro

Hi - yet another newbie here,

I got this Spy Hawk heli (90% same as a Century Hummingbird) and it's fitted with a SG-30 piezo gyro.
The gyro has tiny screws for GAIN and SETUP adjustments.

Can anyone tell me what these do exactly? Can I tweak them to get the best out of my heli?

Any other newbies with Spy Hawks (they're mostly off ebay) then get spares by looking for Hummingbird parts.

    Thanks all!

The gain relates to the sensitivity of the gyro the higher the gain the more sensitive it is. You will get to a point where the tail will wag back and forth when its too sensitive at the this point you turn it back a little then you gain is set.

You will find that by starting low and pushing the collective this will test the gain and the revolution mixing. I suspect the setup will be to do with either the travel of the tail servo or its centre point, as a test move the stick to centre and see if it moves, if not move it to its outer position and again change the setup dial if it moves then I would assume that this dial will set the travel limits.

Not having seen or had one of these heli's its hard to say. It would be worthwhile uploading a few pics to your gallery.
    Cheers
    Stuart
