  • What blades to buy????

The blades will be for my T-REXse 450 V2....
I put some chips in my wooden pro 325's by align, and was thinking of getting the carbon pro 315's by align, what im asking i sposs, is if i clip the carbon blades on something like i did today with the wooden ones, will the helicopter mast take the force and not the blades?
One more thing are the sab 320 blades much better then the align pro 315's for the 8 pounds extra on price??

many thanks for helping me get started in this pricey hobby

I bent the feathering spindle and main mast with my wooden Trex blades when the swash plate came apart in flight.

I guess it depends on the crash.

Personally, I replace blades if they have had a crash as you can never really tell and I wouldn't take the risk for the sake of a tenner.

I have the 325 Pro wooden blades.

    Cheers

If your still learning to hover & think you might catch a blade etc
then stick to woodies mate save your dosh for the next lot of repairs.
If your alread in to forwards flight & arent making mistakes with orientation then go for a set of carbons UVmodels are selling some for £19.99 with free post click the link to view.

These blades are made by GLX and are good value at 17 quid.

I have had a couple of pairs and they tacked fine.

Recently I bought some radix 315 (which are the same length becuase the 315 is to the bolt hole. align 325 is overall length) and they have survived two crashes and are still gong strong (bent main shaft, bent feathering spindle, and once the feathing spindle actually broke).
These radix blades give rewally nice cyclic response and less blade noise.

when a carbon blade is knackered it usually has a crease across the blade on one side. Yuo can see it bends more at that spot and is more bendy than a new one. If you feel along the length(beware of exposed ends of carbon) you can feel it has a thick/thin spot where the foam core is crushed.
The other way is it splits along the leading or trailing edge. Then the blade twists more easily and when twisted the split opens up.

If you can't see any surface damage and it feels the same stiffness in bending and twisting then I'd say use the blade. however I am only talking of trex450 blades here not bigger heavier blades.
