  • Another 0s 50 hyper problem!!

    Evening Chaps,

Had a os 50 hyper on my rappy now for 5 months or so, all been well so far, last couple of weeks i start the engine all seems ok, rev it up and it stalls, wind it up slowly and i can get heli flying but dnt want to risk puling the stick back to far! I can get heli on ground, stop the blades go to rev up again and guess what it stalls!

Have changed the plug, checked the fuel lines and clunk alterd both top and bottem mixtures settings but still no joy!

Any ideas ,soloutions much appreciated , (Any Engine experts near basingstoke that cld help me out at a field wld be a god sand!)

    Regards

    Andy

Have you checked the clunk fuel line? They can get very soft after being in fuel and can collapse under suction.

    Worth changing/checking...

While your at it, check all the plumbing!

Also, try another plug - they can be duff out of the packet!

Even without fuel in the tank they still go gooey, the standard TT clunk tube is very thin, you should replace it with standard fuel tube every 6 months.

This sounds like a loss of compression, therefore I would take a look at your piston and ring, and the rear bearing been there, done that

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

I had this problem with my hyper from new,
turned the idle needle in about an 8th which seemed to help but it still stutters and sounds to me like its too rich when building rev's up,
do'nt want to reduce the idle needle anymore because it starts and flys well,

Your engines sounds about right, you want the bottom end rich to compensate for the lean mid range these engines suffer from, pinch the fule line for a few second just before you spool up.

I'd check your rear bearing sounds like it might be on the way out. Just changed mine. The tell tale sign for me was uneven idling, motor getting to hot and engine sounds like it almost stalls when you give it WOT.
