  • Stupid Question I Know But Im A Newbie!!

Hi there everyone i've mad a few post on here and from everyones advise im gonna buy a sim and save for a nitro heli. I've been looking on the "tinternet" for a heli to save for and i've seen a few heli's i like but one says on it that is start sytem is "Top Start". What does this mean lol?, how many differnt types are there of starting a heli and which which is the best?

Hi Rich it meens you start the heli from the top. Usually insert a probe/starting wand at the top in front or behind the head.

Probably the most common you'll come across on the nitro scene is the Raptor series. Alot of people start with something like the Raptor 30, which is a good starting heli, very stable parts are easy to get hold of because it has been such a sucessful heli. There is also the Raptor 50. slightly more expensive to get going although not a huge amount. little bit more powerful and will probably last you alot longer once you have got going.

Probably the best bet is to go through the pages here and ask about the different makes.
                  All the best

A 50 size nitro heli is probably the best all round heli you can buy.
It's a good size giving it stability to ease the learning process, but it can also do all the 3D manoeuvres you can think of too.

Currently there are a few good choices out there:

                      Raptor 50
                      Sceadu Evo 50
                      Knight Sport/3D
                      Trex 600 Nitro (Imminent release)

Stick the right gear into one of those and your flying experience will be superb.

                      Cheers,
                      Rob

A budget of £600 means you'll need to be looking at the second hand market.
                        (It's an expensive hobby! )

                        Cheers,

but its a good figure to get a decent setup with, you should have plenty of choice in the secondhand market
